So I have started training for a half-marathon with a small group of friends! It is really fun and somewhat challenging. It is definitely a whole mind game. Your mind tries to convince you of a million different reasons why you shouldn't be running, but you must force yourself to do it. It is part of my new year's resolution this year to run. Last year was to quit smoking, which worked out I'm happy to say. That was also a terrible mind game, where your brain tries to convince you to smoke. I had dreams about smoking and there were a few times when my mind decided to forget that I quit, kind of blacked it out. i don't have anything bad to say about smokers though, a lot of awesome out of the box conversations were had while being stimulated by smokes. I don't think that its possible to ever be fully free of smoking once you're hooked either, but its serves a purpose sitting in the back of your mind as a reminder of how powerful your will can be. Does that make any sense at all? I can't believe that there are so many words here without a drawing.

Anyways, running! Its much easier with some supportive friends who have experience training for a marathon thank you thank you! Its about 8 weeks out and I am running 3 times a week. We ran 6 miles on Sunday and it is going to go up every week! Phew!

Nice! Is that a puff of smoke as you jog? Talk about your drag racing. No but seriously, you're an adorable Irishman!

Good for you man! I've just started working out a few months ago as well and it really does hold up to all the hub-ub! 6 miles is so not me right now though- you're nuts! =D

Awesome dude... I didn't know you quit smoking, I would imagine its hard breaking an addiction, but its a time saver not having to get up from drawing every 20 minutes...

As far as working out, you are right, its a mind game... I am losing right now... but I am going to start winning that war this week. Get back in shape!

Best of luck with your training! I think its awesome you are running that race! Go Mike Go!

It's also easier to run without smoking. So, nice order of your resolutions there.

These are very nice. I enjoy them, found them from twitaro on twitter.
