I just got in from a wonderful two and a half weeks in Hawaii. I've never been before, and it is truly a magical place. Meghan and I flew into Maui and stayed upcountry in Pukalani with our friend Loren. Our friend Jaya showed us around the island and we drove and camped in Hana, the rainy side of the island. We then met Meghan's family in Kauai. I love Kauai! What a beautiful, tropical place. the smells were so good, and the fruit dropping off of the trees all around you! We ended our trip on O'ahu's north shore, where we hung around Shark's Cove, Haleiwa and Waimea. At Waimea bay we saw half a dozen turtles and swam with them. Then we jumped off of a 30 foot ledge into the ocean below. Very fun, lots of outdoor activities, which was a great break from sitting inside day and night. I would like to thank the Riley family, Loren and Jaya for making my stay truly special. Here are some hilights from the trip:
Building a sand skull with coral crossbones, oh yeah!
On the path to the secret red sand beach.
Riley family on the rocks at Queen's bath.
One of the many running waterfalls at Hana.
